Welcome to the website dedicated to the Austin Yankees Baseball Club. This baseball club has been in existence since 1998. The tradition was started by the clubs original owner Jesse Longoria and has continued the same excellence under its current owner Jose Salas. Our players have dedicated themselves to playing good competitive baseball in several Hispanic leagues around Austin. We have competed in the Hispanic League of Austin, Liga Hispana, and currently find ourselves competing in the Liga de Beisbol Real Latina. In this website you will find this years stats, schedules, and the clubs history.
Welcome to the 2009 season. This year the team looks forward to another year of excellence and we also look to compete for a championship. This year the team will be back competeing in the Liga Hispana de Austin which will start in March. Please send in your profiles or call me if you are interested in joining the club.
Clubs History:
10 Playoff Appearances
2 Conference Titles
1 Championship (2005)
Congratulations to the team on our 10th playoff appearance and a 3rd place finish.
Congratulations also goes out to Jose "Pepe" Rodriguez for winning this seasons HR Title and also a 5-0 record as a pitcher. Daniel Leal for winning the Batting Title with an average of 604.
This year's MVP goes out to Rudy Mendoza who threw 55+ innings and recorded 64 strikeouts as the teams ace. Although his record does not show it he threw in many big games this year against some of the leagues top clubs. He also showed his toughness and dedication to the club playing the shortstop position in the confrence finals with a bad shoulder.
